Mitzy's Happy Tail

Mitzy, the apricot female poodle we adopted on January 6, 2007, has come a long way.  She's become quite a blessing to us.  Mitzy has a unique personality and is quite the spitfire.  She had a lot of trust issues at first and wouldn't give my husband the time of day - or anyone else (except me).  My husband even called her "mama's girl".

I've taught her to shake hands, which she does really cute.  She already knew how to sit, fetch and dance when we adopted her.  She really loves to play fetch and run - WOW - I've never seen a poodle that could run so fast and for such a long period of time!

Mitzy likes to bring her toys to our 5 year old male poodle, Spanky.  She will keep barking at him wanting him to throw her toys and play.  She doesn't quite understand that he's never going to throw her toys for her to fetch.  He would rather lay down on them and keep them all to himself, which really makes Mitzy mad.  She also tries this with our two cats, Spooky and Peanut.  Another spring time activity she enjoyed before we took our pool cover off is that she'd jump onto the pool cover and play in the funky accumulated rain water.  Needless to say she received many baths in the first few months we had her.

We took her to the groomers a few weeks after we adopted her.  She came home with little bows in her hair and a cute flowered bandana.  My girl Mitzy was so beautiful!

My husband and I have shared our home with six other poodles over the years, but Mitzy is our first female.  She is so prim and proper and her eyes just sparkle.  We love her.
